We run a training course that welcomes anybody that has an interest in bees and beekeeping, even if you do not wish to keep bees yourself. The course starts in January 2017 and nominaly ends in October. The initial part of the course, up until Easter, deals with the theory of beekeeping, after Easter each Saturday will be in our training apiary putting the theory into practice. Timings are approximate as the weather plays an important part in determining the precise timetable. Please ensure you can commit to the full year before applying.
This training course then leads the new beekeeper on to the next stage which is the assessment for the Basic Certificate of Beekeeping by the British Beekeepers Association.
We are now taking contact details for anyone wishing to join our 2017 course and will contact you later in the year when we start enrolling.
We do limit numbers for practical reasons.
The cost of the course includes 12 months membership of the British Beekeepers Association (BBKA), Barnet and District Beekeepers Association (BDBKA), insurance and 12 months subscription to BBKA News which is a beekeeping magazine.
